Our Neck of the Woods is about you, your next door neighbour and the people who come together make a community.
A performance created by Southampton’s community; Unexpected Places and Co-Director Amy Pattison have threaded stories, experiences and memories together to create a verbatim inspired performance all about people, relationships, place and belonging.
As part of this project we are inviting Southampton residents to join us and take part in some free workshops to tell us about themselves, and gather local residents thoughts and memories to fuel the creation of this exciting and exploratory performance.
If you would like to be involved in the free participatory workshops please get in touch by emailing email@example.com
About the Workshops
Unexpected Places will be running a number of participatory, free workshops to schools and local residents; to promote sharing, city pride and increased community cohesion. The verbatim material gathered during these workshops will then be shaped into a performance, created and performed by Southampton based actors.
As a participant you will find yourself taking a trip down memory lane to share with us your thoughts, memories and stories of yourself and the place in which you live. The following workshops are open to all and are free to take part in. We want to hear from you!
The work created ~ your memories and stories shared in our sessions ~ will shape a new performance all about people, relationships, place and belonging. The work created will continue after the project has ended as a legacy to the rich and diverse community that is Southampton through a memory book.
